In the fall of 2015, we were asked to create a design concept for an annual Thanksgiving effort by the Church at Martinsburg.
Op:Thx (Operation Thanks) is a community service program initiated by the Church at Martinsburg to serve the communities of Berkeley County and surrounding areas.
The event offers members of the Church at Martinsburg an opportunity to help those who are unemployed or underemployed by donating frozen turkeys. The turkeys are then distributed to area organizations like CCAP Loaves and Fishes, YoungLives, the Rescue Mission and the Boys & Girls Club of Martinsburg. Since Op:Thx began in 2009, the church has provided more than 2,000 turkeys to local families in need - that’s more than 15 tons of turkey, or enough to feed a quarter of Berkeley County!
Since its inception, the branding of the event has evolved and in 2015 we designed the version of the logo and branding seen above. The design focuses on the turkey, the tagline, “we are people helping people find and follow Jesus… one Turkey at a time” and stylized OP:THX text.
In addition to the primary visual design, we also provided designs for stickers with a similar visual style. The designs include single color line art that featured imagery related to project - family, an empty plate and a turkey.
