Web People! We’re hosting a meetup!

As a web developer, outside of meetings, I spend a majority of my day looking at a computer screen. Unless you work on a team, being a web professional can be an isolating existence.

That’s what makes a meetup great! You have an opportunity to meet others who are in a similar situation. To that end, when I was contacted by Brandon Mueller about joining a meetup of Eastern Panhandle web people, I jumped at the chance to join and so we will be hosting the first meetup here at Firebrand Media on January 20 at 6:30PM.

It’ll be awkward… for a minute

Meeting people for the first time is always awkward, or is that just me? It’s probably just me. I’m going to have to brush up on my manners. Despite that awkward first moment where you have to step out of your comfort zone and actually talk to someone you don’t know, it’s worth it. It’s worth it if only to figure out that there are other people out there as weird as me that like to talk about code. Or cats. Or Star Wars. Or whatever it is that you think makes you weird.

Are you a web tech person? Do you do something related to the web? You should come and check it out. What have you got to lose?

Complete details can be found on the Panhandle Web Tech Meetup page. We’d love to see you here.
