Important Announcement for our Web Hosting Clients

TL;DR - We’re moving your web site to a new server this month.

Web Hosting is a utility. By that, I mean that it’s something that we rarely consider. It just works and we all keep doing our jobs.

As your web hosting provider our job is to shield you from the intricacies of web hosting. We provide a reliable service and when it isn’t working or, when you need to do something else with it, we troubleshoot and provide solutions that are easily understandable and can be implemented by our clients.

Most likely, you hired us because of a personal connection or a referral from a satisfied client. We’d like to think that you stay with us because our service has been reliable and, more importantly, you can call us and we’ll give you real answers without all of the jargon or lingo. We treat you like a friend, not just a customer.


There’s nothing as frustrating as your email or web server being down. Most web hosts guarantee a 99.9% uptime and the company that we rent server space from is no different. That .1% of downtime is when you need a reliable, responsive support staff that can help troubleshoot and solve issues.

For the past 10 years, we have been extremely happy with the company that we rent space from. Their support staff has proven to be knowledgeable, friendly and responsive. We’ve truly valued the relationship that we’ve had with them.

Unfortunately, they were purchased by another company that has a reputation for buying web hosts and firing the support staff to bring it all under their umbrella, generally with disastrous results. In fact, almost immediately after the transition, complaints from other companies that also rent server space with this company, began showing up on Twitter and other social media outlets. Support tickets went days without being answered. This is unacceptable.

What this means for you

As you’ve probably guessed, we’ve begun to transition away from our current host. After researching alternative web hosts, we feel like we’ve found a company that shares our focus on quality customer service.

For most of you, this transition will be painless. You may not even notice a difference.

We began the transition by moving all of our own sites -,, Fireside Chats and others - to the new host. This has been a great way to work out the kinks of the transition and develop a reliable process for moving everyone over.

What happens next?

Over the course of September, we are going to move sites from the old server to the new server.

We will start with the simplest sites first. If you are using the server for just web hosting (not email or anything else), you will be moved and nothing will change. You won’t notice a difference. All of your log-in credentials will remain as is and you can continue working as you normally would.

If you are using the site for email in addition to web hosting, we will contact you directly to let you know how to proceed and when we will transition your site. You will likely need to update some settings in your email program to continue to receive and send email. The changes should be minor but will need to be made for each device that you are using email on.

We know this is inconvenient. It will cost us productivity in the short term but, in the long run, this will allow us to continue to provide the service and responsiveness that you expect.
